Smart parking - ATEC day
January 11, 2015
parking : which policies for which services ? ATEC ITS France proposed a day of information and reflection to discuss these subjects, on April 7, 2015 at the Pavillon de l'Arsenal in Paris.
Awareness of the importance of organizing parking in our cities is not recent.
This imperative has been reinforced in recent years with the increasing integration of parking into urban policies as a lever for modal , for rebalancing the sharing of public space, for the development of other mobility services such as cycling , car sharing or electric vehicle charging. These developments will in particular require greater optimization of the use of the parking resource (improved compliance with regulations, pooling of parking, better information on its operation, etc.), reinforced integration with alternative modes of travel to the car, the formulation of increasingly fine-tuned and personalized solutions for the different categories of parking users.
At the same time, new challenges arise with the rapid development of new tools based on new technologies, open data and, finally, the institutional upheaval that the decriminalization of parking .
To what extent are these new elements likely to modify behavior? To what extent should political choices be made to allow a more virtuous travel policy and better integration of the parking service in the urban environment?
The speakers at this day of information and reflection provided some answers. Their presentations are available on the ATEC website.
