Setting up shared parking operations

To avoid the perverse effects of "all private" and better meet the objectives of sustainable development, Sareco has been recommending for several years the programming of shared parks in the sector during major urban projects.

By bringing into play the temporal complementarity of demand between the different facilities in a district, pooling makes it possible to reduce the number of parking spaces built by up to 1/3.

When we assist an operator in setting up a shared parking operation, we carry out a forecast analysis of parking needs with the objectives of:
  • limit the cost of real estate transactions in relation to the service rendered;
  • limit the urban space consumed by parking;
  • maintain control of a strategic lever to conduct its travel policy.
Sareco has created an unparalleled database on the parking generation of common equipment. By cross-referencing this information with the program of the development operation, a computer programming tool makes it possible to estimate the number of private and shared spaces to be planned. The network of shared parks in the sector can then be defined.

Then, from a specific documentary base, Sareco can propose modes of financing and management of these pooled parks.

Content of the missions

Sareco can support Project Owners from the genesis of the project to the operating phase:
  • estimate of the demand to be expected according to the program of the operation and the urban fabric in which it is inserted;
  • evaluation of the technical and economic advantages according to the level of pooling and the planned construction method;
  • design of the principle of access to buildings: location of the car park, shape, structure, access, etc.;
  • drafting of an argument to explain the project to the local authority concerned;
  • assistance in setting up the operation: benchmark showing the range of possibilities, assistance with discussions between partners, setting up scenarios, etc.;
  • assistance in the transfer of land / Building Permits and Calls for Tenders for the operation of the works.
