Parking for sports equipment

To mark its 50th anniversary, Qualisport – a Sport & Leisure qualification body – organized a half-day technical event on October 6, 2026 at the Decathlon Arena Stade Pierre Mauroy, in collaboration with:

• AITFAssociation of Territorial Engineers and Chief Engineers of France, Northern region,
• ANDIISS – the National Association of Directors and Stakeholders of Sports Facilities and Services ,
• and Sareco.

Using numerous concrete examples, Éric Gantelet presented the issue of parking for sports facilities, explaining in particular:

• the significant variation in parking demand throughout the hour, week, and year,
• the parameters and principles of calculating parking demand,
• the influence of supply on parking demand,
• the advantages and conditions of combining parking generators with other parking generators,
• The advantage of addressing the peaks through management rather than concrete,
• not forgetting the economic and regulatory aspects.

And finally, Eric provided the handbook for parking design for sports facilities.
