Sareco réalise le Plan Régional de Politique du Stationnement de Bruxelles
25 Janvier 2013
Parking Policy Plan has been approved by the Brussels Government.
The Brussels-Capital Region is now submitting it to a public inquiry, from January 21 to March 21, 2013.
This project was led by sareco as part of a joint mission with the STRATEC , which had carried out the bulk of the diagnosis.
The mission was both highly technical and highly political, often involving clashes of opposing viewpoints. However, Brussels Mobility maintained a constructive, conciliatory approach, even granting itself additional time to allow all stakeholders to express their views. All modes of transport (from trucks and cars to bicycles) and all uses (residents, commuters buses , etc.) were explored. Submitted by sareco to Brussels Mobility (the Brussels-Capital Region's administration responsible for facilities, infrastructure, and transportation) at the end of 2011, the project matured in 2012.
It goes without saying that the compromises reached within the working groups needed to be confirmed on a larger scale. The Government and elected officials took up the matter to analyze it in detail and contribute their input.
Several relevant enhancements have been made to better introduce certain topics or add clarifications. For example, specific exemptions have been the subject of debate, resulting in numerous additions that take into account a wide range of individual cases. In some instances, certain overly innovative proposals have been scaled back or postponed.
In short, the representatives of the various bodies involved in the Region have taken ownership of the document, which has truly become their own.
Sareco is proud to have been able to carry out this delicate but very beautiful mission and hopes that all Brussels residents can benefit from a better general organization of parking for the benefit of the greatest number.
