Charging stations

Charging stations are a major issue in parking , given the growing demand from users and the strengthening of regulatory requirements.

The development of decarbonized vehicles requires the establishment of infrastructures, the implementation of technological solutions and the definition of viable economic models.

In France, in line with the new measures taken at national or European level in terms of environmental orientation and in favor of vehicle electricity (EV), the automotive sector is undergoing a profound energy transformation.

This transformation is gradually intensifying and requires the development of Charging Infrastructures for Electric Vehicles (IRVE) coherent and sufficient, at both national and local level, to give electromobilists a sufficient radius of action.

The parking sector, at the heart of the debate, is also involved in accelerating the deployment of IRVE. The challenges for parking inherent in charging infrastructures for electric vehicles concern in particular:
  • The development of IRVE in works, on roads and at home;
  • The occupation of space by terminals, highlighted in relation to the objectives of reducing the number of parking spaces;
  • The adaptability, maintenance and durability of the terminals;
  • Management of reservations and seat occupancy.
The issues to be addressed and on which Sareco can assist its customers are multiple:
  • The technical possibilities in terms of recharging are numerous: it is necessary to identify the uses, determine the power requirements and thus plan the appropriate infrastructure (km traveled / range to be recovered / recharging time / power).
  • The appropriate charging type and power must therefore be chosen according to the situation:
    • normal low power recharging of a residential nature (long duration > 8 h);
    • normal charging with higher power (medium duration, between 2 and 6 hours);
    • fast charging (short duration < 2 h).
  • The regulations in terms of IRVE are constantly changing: it is therefore necessary to take into account the most recent regulatory texts;
  • The economic balance is still often precarious and requires work:
    • on pricing and usage aspects;
    • on setting up projects.
