Term Definition
LAPI
Automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) systems operate by analyzing images. They can be used to facilitate and manage access to parking lots ( fixed installations). They can also assist in monitoring paid parking (on personal digital assistants used by officers on foot, or as onboard systems in cars or even on scooters). However, in France, they are not authorized for use by municipalities in the exercise of their judicial police powers related to traffic violations.
Lincoln
These parking spaces, recessed into the sidewalk, are named as such because the first ones were created on a street called Lincoln in Paris.
Tenant
Client holding a contract of rental granting him exclusive use of a parking space. For any other parking space, see: Subscribers.
The tenants can be:
  • residents,
  • commuters parked at their workplace ,
  • commuters stopping at a public transport station.
Rental
Fixed-term contract (month, quarter, year), authorizing access to a work with a reserved space.

Tariff law

Principles for organizing tariffs applicable to a good or service.  Example : tariff law may stipulate a contractual obligation for a service provider to offer residents a lower tariff than that applicable to non-residents. See also Tariff schedule.

Longitudinal (parking ~)
(or parallel parking) Organization of parking spaces parallel to the traffic lane. See also perpendicular and angled.
