Pricing by weight	Parking fees based on vehicle weight have been permitted since 2019 under Article L2333-87 of the French General Code of Local Authorities. This system has been implemented in Paris, Lyon , and Bordeaux, with the aim of curbing the rise of SUVs and their impact on urban quality of life. The weight limits are higher for electric vehicles due to the weight of their batteries.
