Bicycle parking devices are discouraged by all cycling associations. These "wheel clamp" type racks only hold the bicycle by part of the wheel, risking bending it; they do not secure or attach the bicycle by the frame. Bracket-style bike racks do not have these drawbacks, as they combine frame support with wheel locking. See also: Bike rack
